Is it ethical to start a job knowing that a year from now you will be going back to school?
Answer:
Yes a job is a job, nobody works at the same place forever. Just be sure to let your boss know in advanced. Good luck!
Sure. It's your life, isn't it?
yes. one year committment is ok.
it is ethical to have a job right now
Yes.you would have given them a year of your services.
You gotta work, right? Sure.go for it..
yes, the same company would hire you knowing full well that they are going to lay you off in six months.
As long as you don't promise to work more than a year and then break that promise. If your company is like most you have an "employment at will" agreement which means both you and the company are free to end the employment relationship at any time for any reason. So they are no more making a long-term commitment to you than you are to them.
As long as you do not sign a contract, which locks you in for more than 1 year, you are fine. Do not tell them initially that you are intending to only stay 1 year, as this may hinder your chances of landing the job. When it gets closer to the time, make sure you find out how much notice you need to give, and it is up to you whether you give the minimum notice, or extra notice.
If you consider giving extra notice, just be careful. I gave notice once, and was called in at the end of the day, and terminated and paid out, effective immediately.
