How do I deal with a too harsh boss?
Answer:
change jobs
You could talk to her and explain your feelings. If you're not comfortable with that, deal with it. Or you could find a new job if it's that bad.
I had a boss like that before and I just finally got fed up and quit. Nobody is perfect and its a pain to go to work everyday hoping to not step on toes. Go somewhere else.
job your quit
Bring in a pot of soup as a peace offering, only dont call it that. Have a smile on your face and avoid conflict. Show her you are not into the drama. When you make a mistake, be graceful about it and ignore her banter. everyone screws up. if it gets really hurtful, talk to her.
I think you should start looking for another job. Why won't your BF tell her about you? The whole deal is fishy and she sounds like she is going to make your life miserable. I'd find a new BF, too, if I were you.
yep, change jobs.
if she is a great person and one of the best employers you've ever had, i'd say to 'relax'. try to minimize your errors and learn how to deflect her comments after you make boo-boos. everyone makes mistakes -- even her. good luck.
As far as I know--dyslexia is a legitimate disability. Don't employers have to make allowances for people who are disabled? I believe that punishing someone because of a disability is not legal. If you have the proof to back up your being dyslexic, you may want to talk to your state's labor board and see if you have any recourse.
