Of course you want to put your best foot forward. You'll probably see some of the other candidates trying to "promote themselves" i.e. bragging and self centered talk. The quickest way to be memorable is to show interest in what others are interested in, such as the recruiters. Come up with some questions about the company that are relevant and show the representatives your focus is on what they need, not yourself. Those are the candidates I'd look at most seriously. Braggarts are a dime a dozen out there.
Connect with the recruiters. I would not advise putting on any masks. Be yourself and be someone that they feel good about at the end of dinner. Putting on airs is a common mistake that many folks can see right through. Answer their questions, but don't brag. Show up on time.treat the people around you including the waiter/waitress with the utmost respect and gratitude and simply show class. Make them feel respected and comfortable around you.
