I have a question about a job oppty.?

I applied to a position at a naval museum some time ago but the position I wanted was taken. However, a new, but different position opened up that I find myself qualified for so I sent in my resume.

Is it possible to re-apply with a company for a different position? Just curious.

P.S. I passed the initial interview the first time around but the new supervisor didn't ask me in (and they know me since I had called them on a weekly basis to let them know my interest in the position).

Answer:
Yes. Generally, applications/resumes revceived for one position are filed, and if another position opens the Recruiter or HR person doesn't have the time or inclination to review the filed applications/resumes. It's easier to solicit new ones.

Besides, on the second, third or subsequent submissions, the recruiter/reviewer may find something that was overlooked previously and give you a call.
Yes. You should apply for each position individually. Don't assume the company will consider you for other openings.

But only apply for one position per company at a time.
