A career in the arts or something else like information tech, comp programing, etc?`?
Answer:
Are you talking communism or capitalism? In communism everybody must be able to afford the same education level irrespective of their financial backgrounds. In capitalism what is in India everybody cannot be given equal share so Capitalism is your only way out. Or you equalize what everybody has, by attaching EVERYBODY's property is GOVERNMENT property then you equally redistribute it to everyone, then it is COMMUNISM. So dont live in fake imaginary world calling yourself COMMUNIST PARTY. There can only be capitalism for everything is unequal (there is no balance) it has to be repaid in cash and kind (service)
u take a path which u love to. If u dont love the path it makes no difference which path u take.
IT remains the largest employer in the job market today, so if you have decent logical skills and want to 'play it safe' go for IT. If you have a flair for the arts, go for arts by all means. Though the opportunities in the arts are still not to the extent of IT, arts has silently grown a lot in the last few years in the country and even some flair for it can take you places.
Further, arts can make for a much more exciting and fulfulling career than IT, which tends to be mundane unless you have exceptional logical skills and can get yourself into the cream of today's few pure-blood product companies.
