you can work online here in your spare time http://www.cashcrate.com/index.php?ref=5. and http://www.treasuretrooper.com/143413. both of these sites pay you to answer surveys and requires no money down. E-mail me if you have any questions!
Immigrants are taking all the jobs cause they will work for cheap♥
Because as has been stated immigrants work cheaper and also more and more employers are looking for people with degrees. But still there is work out there, if you are willing to lower your sights and standards. Building Service 32B-32J is one that doesn't require degrees or even a high school diploma and pays well and has good security, pension, medical coverage etc.
Because employers want people with skills and/or a demonstrated ability to learn.

You need to approach the situation from what you can offer an employer and you need to have the confidence to think of yourseld as more than just an average person. You have areas where you are above average, probably even great. Try to translate those into job skills and approach jobs that match. If you do not have the training, education, skills you need right now look for where an entry level is for a profession that matches your desire.

If you flat out need money right now, try waiting tables and/or bartending. You should be able to get a job in a matter of days rather than weeks. You also should apply to temp agencies.
she's right, immigrants are taking all the jobs, start ur own biz today or go back to school and learn something special so as to remain relevant in the labour market
Go to a temp agency. You need to do something while you're waiting for a "real" job. Anything will do for now if you have bills to pay.
to get you buy why not do temp work- you get to try a variety of jobs and then maybe will find a permanent one

call your local staffing agency

look at my profile and take online surveys from 3 sites, free to join and you can earn some money while looking for a job

be a waiter or bartender- good tips
I think if you check the "How to get a Job" sources, you'll find it is an average 3-month ordeal. If you don't have a resume` on great paper with a cover letter, get one. I have gotten some excellent jobs very quickly just on the initial presentation. In the meantime, have you checked your civil service openings?

I certainly sympathize with you. As you know, retail jobs are increasing, and industrial jobs are going over seas. It certainly is harder these days for the average middle class person to secure a decent job.

Go ahead and pull out all the stops. Take some temp work through some agencies while you're looking. In the past I've been hired for decent money and started within the week through temp agencies. Use all the resources in your area. The more ways you search, the more likely you'll soon be employed. Best of luck.
It is not easy to find a job when you feel like there is so much competition.. that and a solid fear on how you are going to survive if things do not change for you soon. Since 2001, the Helping Friends Career Network has been helping people find jobs, even in the most difficult climates.. If it will make you feel better, in MOST regions the markets appear to be improving from previous months. How do you find the opportunities for you? Networking and keep busy. Keep busy enough that you don't have time to worry.

1. No permanent jobs available, update your resume as a creative problem solver and quick learner, then go apply at contract agencies. A good many employers will hire their temp contract workers as regular employees. You get money coming in, you get to pay more bills and be more selective, which will allow you to feel like you have more options to create the RIGHT environment, not just get a job.

See many worried job seekers get to a state where they are so concerned about employment that they forget that to solve the problem, they must focus on selling themselves as someone that can do the job, not just acing the interview.

2. Sign up for LinkedIn.com networking, building a profile where you present yourself as someone companies want to hire.. Use the LinkedIn Jobs Search. Did you know that over 65% of today's jobs are found through networking? This allows you advance notice of jobs, before they hit the job boards, and sometimes never need to hit the job boards.

3. If you need additional help, check out the career guide at http://hfcareernetwork.com for hints on tough times, marketing yourself, networking, resumes, etc.

4. Sign up for the jobs support group called the Helping Friends Career Network Jobs at: http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/hf.

Good luck! There is a job out there for you.. Just get some support and don't try to do it all alone.. Your possibility is out there, you just need to trust its there and start moving in a direction that recognizes it.
My dear friend, I have been there. Just be persistent, keep looking do not give up. Even though I was working, I was without a decent job for a period of two years, until finally a door opened for me. Even considering that I had a B.A. in Accounting. I don't know what is your education, but if you can improve your skills and your knowledge, you have better opportunities. Again don't give up. Improve yourself. Take advantage of many educational programs that has job placement once you finish your training or education. Always look towards the future and the possibilities, and stop swimming in the ponds of the past. Praise be to God, from merely almost $18,000 a year in 2004 and 2005, as of the present time my annual salary jumped to $60K a year. I will pray for you.
Most "better" jobs; non entry level jobs now are requiring better skill sets and education levels. Networking with people who are working in the field you want to work in can help, and so can using a Headhunter or resume update service. Most of the time apps are tossed away, some employers only advertise jobs when they already have a potential hire in mind - to keep it legal.
The above answerer is correct in her assumption that illegal immigration is killing the job market, as is raising the minimum wage. Americans are having a hard enough time finding jobs now, it will only get worse with increased required minimum wages. I know 15 and 16 year olds making above min wage, so that argument is BS. Very few people in my part of the country are making min wage.
