Is it ever appropriate to thank a person for a job interview via e-mail?
Answer:
I'd say yes since a note in the mail takes time and they could fill the position before they receive it.
yes.. it is. :D
Leaves a lasting impression. And a good one at that.
Sure, why not? I know people who have done this.
No, the hiring manager will think you're stalking them, and it's pretty cheesy. A personal thank you in a letter or card is always best. Just drop it off at the receptionist desk or something.
i tink no need use email.when ur boss call u to say u get the job.just thank him straight away.
if youve already thanked them for the opportunity after the interview, then it will kinda seem like youre too desperate and overly eager. just a thought.
Definitely. I have interviewed in the past and find it professional and gives the person a few more bonus points in the interviewing process. Good luck!
If you have the Interviewers e-mail address . sure I don't see anything wrong with it. it's a new age.
"O" Wise One says.. it's OK
I think any form of thank you is appreciated!
I think that it is a wonderful way to get them thinking about you again. So they don't forget who you are.excellent idea!
No, it is never appropriate to thank someone for an interview via email. My strategy is that I have a basic letter written and then immediately after the interview slide in a few details of the interview and mail the same day. If you are truly interested in the job and are concerned that it will be filled by someone else within 48 hours, maybe express mail the thank you.
Emailing the thank you is far to informal for a potential new employer.
I would do it in email but with a question that may have been omitted during the interview as a reason for sending the email. If the employer attaches the email to the resume, it's at the top of the pile. They will also feel obligated to reply to the question. make it a good question.
There's no substitute for a genuine handwritten note (no cartoon stationary please) to thank the person for the interview, reiterate that you are interested in an offer, and pretty much ask for the job. I always carry notecards with me in my car that I personalize and stamp immediately after the interview and pop in the mail. If you do that before 5:00 pm from most mailboxes, the note will arrive the next day.
What the handwritten note does is bring the resume to the top of the pile because they will most likely attach it. Hmmm, that's the third time they get to review the resume. Is that an omen?
I always thank by email when I interview with a company, and prefer receiving thank you notes by email when I interview someone for a position.
Yes.
It's appropriate to thank a person for a job interview via e-mail. Just remember that the email you send is still a professional communication. Make sure your grammar is perfect, and your spelling is flawless.
yes it is totally appropriate in this day and age. i've never thanked anyone for an interview not using email. this works for large fortune 500 companies and small businessess. everyone is just too darn busy nowadays.
Although it may be appropriate.it is more memorable to leave a handwritten thank you note. It usually take a blank Thank you card with me and write it out before I leave their front office, and leave it with the secretary.and a funny one (not dirty) always has won me the job.
