Depends on what you want out of life. It frequently happens, for instance, that a bloody good engineer becomes a bloody bad manager of engineers. If you have always wanted to break out of a specialism, or you think it's time to move on, and you're good with people and concepts, and "outside the box" thinking, and consider yourself a creative doer then go for it.
