How do you get into Pharmaceutical sales?

Answers:
The response from "Lee S" is idiotic. Medicines help people live longer lives - just ask any and everyone with hypertension, congestive heart failure or high cholesterol. The data has proven itself time and time again. And doctors wouldn't continue to write as many prescriptions if medicines didn't help people.
Anywho, you get into pharma sales by selling yourself to others. If you don't have experience in sales, try to get some (selling copiers or cars or whatever, just as long as it's a hard product from which you can measure (your) growth). Purchase or read the book, "Knock 'em Dead" by an author named Yates or Yeates - this will help you with interviewing questions and the appropriate answers. Monster.com is a great place to start. You have to have a 4-year degree (which can be in anything, although the (natural) sciences or marketing/business degrees are more likely to win you an interview). Keep pushing and pushing until you get in... it doesn't matter if it's a small company that sells cough/cold medicines or a larger company - just get in, get your feet wet, prove that you can sell a product, then you can change companies at a later date... which usually involves a jump in base pay.
contact pharm companies.....or look in sunday classifieds of your local newspaper...also,chec... on internet job sites....
There are many opportunities for Entry-Level Pharma Sales - however, there is a certain look and feel to a pharmaceutical salesmen that they're looking for.

Look to develop a 3 and 6 minute pitch of yourself, something a good pharma rep has (the 3-, 6-, and 30-minute product pitches).
If you contact pharm companies, they're often willing to set up a meeting with you and you can get all the basic info you need.

Most companies require a 4 year degree--business degree is often preferred-- and will require you to go through company training.

There's a good ebook about getting jobs in Pharm Sales. http://fireboat.freespipub.hop.clickbank... Maybe it can help you.

The money and benefits are great... it's an enjoyable job if you're an outgoing, gregarious person!

Best of luck!
