Try Data Entry. Often times they have graveyard shifts. You won't really learn that much, but it does earn some money (10-12 an hour on average). You can do this until you find a better job. Look into staffing or administrative firms to find data entry job openings. Also, I think there are jobs being a cash vault teller or something like that..they also work midnight type shifts. Btw, I live in the Bay Area and have done data entry in the past.

Hotel desk clerk, security guard, maybe work at the airport. I think you were probably hoping employers would be here just looking for employees, but I am in Kansas, so cannot help you there. Get yourself into all the hotels in the area and apply for desk clerk. If the airport is open into the night, check for job openings there. Try to think of the businesses that are open all night long and how you would fit in, and then go in and apply or send your resume. It is oftentimes hard to find someone who WANTS to work that shift, so I think you will be in luck. Oh, yeah, and hospitals.
Go on hospital website and look for their Careers or Jobs or Employment and see what non-medical jobs are listed.

May I suggest working for an SF hospital or medical center? Check out craigslist and look under healthcare. High wages and night shifts are available without a biology degree. You can also do a yahoo search for hospitals in SF and go directly to their websites.
