I'm considering relocating to Cleveland what are some good areas for families to live in near Cleveland, Ohio?
Answer:
DONT,
but if you must I have lived here for 20 years. I prefer the east side. I would suggest Moreland Hills, Orange, Solon, Aurora, Chagrin Falls, Russell, Chesterland, or Beachwood due to their good school systems. They are all pretty suburban, except a couple are further out from the city. When it comes to property value, Aurora seems to be doing the best right now, and will most likely go up the most. If you want to live on the west side I would look into Rocky River or over by North Olmstead and Strongsville. Anything else off of I480 I would avoid if your raising kids.
But honostley the Cleveland economy is terrible, and If my did not live here I would have never moved back.
On a personal note I grew up in Moreland Hills and now live in Solon, I loved Moreland Hills, and I think the Orange shcool district along with Chagrin are the two best in Cleveland.
I had a friend that lived in Sheffield Lake which I thought was a rather nice community (and right on Lake Erie as well).
Avon Lake is nice. How far from Cleveland did you want to live? 30 mile radius? Do you want to live in the city or country? You need more details in your question.
Anywhere that has a rural area, cities always have the most trouble.
You simply can't beat Cleveland Hts or Shaker Hts for proximity to the city and all the best cultural things here. The RTA is close, University Circle is just down the hill, and housing , esp in Cleveland Hts, is widely varied in price and style. They're both older, so there are a lot of older houses, but they're charming as can be. Downside is that property taxes are the highest in these two cities and the schools aren't that great.
