How to answer simple yet deep question from your ceo?
Answer:
Hi, Ronnie,
You know?.I will greet my employees in the same way.maybe a little different ..asking them whats going on .How are things going for you ..etc.and I'm not expecting a snappy comeback..I'm just interested in my employees and my business both.and sometimes I am in a hurry and I don't expect a lengthy deep answer. But if they have a need to talk about anything .I stop and take the time for them.but I know whats new with my company.its you ..{or my employees} that I am asking about. I only know about you.. what you tell me about yourself..and your CEO is most likely the same.I am sure he is being polite in his greeting .hoping all is well ..but ready to listen if you have a problem.be honest and tell him whats new.in your life..maybe one of your children was in a school play..or you just got engaged or whatever is NEW for you .. :)
My CEO doesn't know I exist!
What's new?

Factory orders are up.
You can give a brief one-liner on your current project/assignment. If he probes, it's an opening to say more and "advertise" yourself.
Get cracking on some research and discover a possible way to make things more efficient/cheaper/reliable. Then when he asks "What's new?", whip it out and impress him.
