How do you quit your job without being a quitter?

My manager thinks that I'll do well if I stay but I'm not on the same page. I'm having second-thoughts about my job and I'm even looking at other jobs..what should I do?

Answer:
I WOULD try to work out the issues with my boss, and if i saw that the issues are not workable, i would start looking for another JOB. never jump ship without having a place to land. be carefully. drink lots of JAMAICAN RUM AND jump high. PRAY ABOUT IT. ask the LORD TO HELP YOU.
quitting can mean giving up, getting a better job, ie one that you like better, is advancing,, don't quit, advance!
Don't think of yerself as a quitter for starters. If yer not happy w yer job, do something else. You don't live w yer manager, so f*k him/her. Follow yer instincts.
Do stupid stuff and get yourself fired. Then technacly you woudn't have quit.
Be sure when you quit that you are leaving to better yourself.
You're a quitter if you quit your job and just do nothing for the rest of your life and sulk, which doesn't sound like what you're doing. If you find a better position just make sure you give your boss two weeks notice.
i;ve quit my job to serach new avenues of self employment are some places i'm currently making money off of.

Remember this saying.."never burn bridges behind you", or even "leave a door open as you exit." No matter how you feel about your boss, manager or the company you work for, it is always a good idea to write a letter to the manager giving them 2 weeks notice. Write nice things about how you enjoyed the opportunity to work there but feel that it would be in your best interest to work for a Company that (offers better benefits, opportunities for growth, etc. whatever your reason). Sign it Sincerely and make a copy for yourself. You may need them in the far future and it is best if they remember you as a mature, polite, ethical person. Leaving on a bad note is never good for either party
do what makes you happy bra!

If you're not happy, move on. Your manager apparently thinks highly of you and your work, so ask for a letter of recommendation and start looking for what you want. Life is way too short to spend the bulk of your waking hours upset and doubting.

But let me tell you something--in my experience, a good boss who believes in you outweighs EVERYTHING. Sometimes I can't stand my job, even though I am paid very well, and I've tried to quit THREE TIMES! My bosses won't let me. :) They are the best and end up telling me to take a deep breath, go home, and they'll see me tomorrow. And tomorrow I always show up and keep going.
