Can a person with poor social skills get a job at Burger King that doesn't require being up front?
Answers:
Let me just first and foremost that your social issues are not ones to make fun of. These are issues that a lot of people face in society, and though it seems unlikely you too can have a job that requires a lack of social interaction if that is what makes you feel comfortable. However, when speaking to a potential employer about "wanting to be placed in the back," be upfront and explain to him in a clear manor of the challenges you face with your social issues. Don't divulge too much information, but just explain to him that you have these issues. Also, if possible you should try to contact someone to help you through them, such as a life coach. There are valuable resources all around that can help you with your lack of social interactions. Your doctor may be able to help as well.
go work in a kitchen... you never see the quests.. just cook and that's it.. it's not worth the money but ehh
sure you can it would be great for your social skills and confidence to work in a team environment with a common goal of quality service for the customers.
tell him you like to work on your own, my husband works for nasa and he has poor social skills so i think you can get a job where ever you want to...
Great chefs have started out at doing fast food cooking!! Good luck on your interview!!
In my opinion, anyone can apply for a job that they like and feel qualified for. Ask the manager and you will get an answer. I think that's the best solution to your problem. If he said "YES" you are in luck. If he said "NO", maybe you could bargain for long hours or additional task. And sometimes the thing that you are trying to not to do is the best thing to do.
Be very careful about that comment "I want to work in back", as it might be misunderstood in a wierd sort of way.
BK has the same recruiting problems as almost all other labor-intensive employers, so they will most likely make their decision based on how you perform during the interview.
There isn't a real need to be "Mr. Personality" to work the fron counter at BK. Front line workers need to be fairly accurate in placing orders and making correct change. No rude behavior, good hygiene, clean hair and nails, etc.
Most likely they will start you out in a low-visibility area (like the back) to observe your work ethics. Then when you are ready, or they are needy enough, you will move to a different, more responsible position. Eventually you will "work your way up" to the Front Counter.
Don't forget to take your "chill pill" prior to the interview, if you have such medications ordered by your doctor. Please don't get discouraged if you don't get hired by BK. McD also hires often, and you can work with your school counselor to make some really good contacts in the community.
I am sure you can request to work in the back, cleaning, etc. Maybe after you do that for a while and feel comfortable ,you may be able to work in a different position.
