Has anyone actually ever been a secret shopper?
Answer:
My wife does it; she makes some money and gets a lot of samples. She got a book called "The Mystery Shopper" by Cathy Stucker and it helped her get started without getting conned.
It's also very flexible, which is great if you're busy.
I've done it.
It was fun.
I'd like to do it again.
depends on the agency I suppose --and some are just a way to get your email address for spam I think, but it is indeed quite easy. . .
My wife must be one. She shops in secret and then surprises me all the time with the stuff she lugs home.
Yeah, it's easy but you don't make much money. HOWEVER, it's excellent to get free food. Sometimes you get to go to cool restaurants, but most of the time it's a drag to drive a long time to go eat as a secret shopper. Don't expect to become rich over it, and remember you have to fill our questionnaires once you're done eating so your employee pays you.
I have hahaha
Yes, I used to run a program for Giorgio Armani stores. Typically a service will pay you $10-40 for shopping a designated store(s). You will get a load of instructions for things to look and listen for (Idea tags, did someone great you at the door). The more thorough you are in your reports, the more work you will get. Typically, you will not be reimbursed for mileage or any other incurred expense. Although, you can't get rich off of these gigs, they can be a great source of MAD MONEY!
