Postal Service Job?
Answers:
There seems to be a high correlation between the postal service and a hot lead injection. Hence the parlance, "going postal."
any government job will have very good benefits. and i believe the starting pay for a mail carrier is about $17.00/hr.
It is just like any other job. The last 10-20 years, it takes almost an act of congress to get on with the postal service. How do you plan on getting on?
It is a good job money wise if you can get it. Have to pass civil service exam and be put on waiting list many people want it few a chosen. Starting pay like 18 an hour and benefits great. Federal job.
I worked for the post office and it was a tough job, like being in the military a bit. But...I loved it. The pay was good and the co-workers diverse, some a little rough around the edges, but I really loved it. There is a lot of lifting, a lot of standing, a lot of walking, but it makes you get into shape really fast. I worked in post offices in a small city and a small town, so it may be really different in a large city, but what have you got to lose?
Permanent career jobs are really good. Unfortunately, they are also extremely difficult to get into these days since postal prefers hiring part time workers.
it's like any other job. if you work for a nice supervisor and have good coworkers, then it's a great place to work. if you're stuck with working for a lousy supervisor and have horrible coworkers, then it's a bad place. the good thing is that it pays fairly well. it can be a lot of work though. most positions have a lifting requirement, so you have to be in pretty good shape. but i think most people enjoy working there. after all, other than walmart, postal service has the most employees.
