Career choice???
Answers:
I'm probably not the person who should give advices to other people because I'm so indecisive myself, but I had to do a research on "Mathematician" last year in one of my "Growth and Development" classes and I found out that you can do almost anything and work anywhere (from middle school in your neighborhood to one of the NASA centers) with math degree, but you often need to combine it with degree in something else.
If money is important then Math + Accounting/Finances is very good choice. Also, some colleges offer "Financial Engineering."
Combining math with economics or physics is also nice.
In the world of applied math, mathematicians are often called something else - engineering specialists, statisticians, actuaries, operation research analysts, economists, astronomers… If you like any of these professions math knowledge is the basis.
Some employers of mathematical majors are: Federal agencies (including Defense, Labor, Justice, Agriculture, Health and Human Services, Transportation, Commerce, Treasury, and NASA), public and private schools and universities, manufacturing firms, computer hardware and software companies, insurance agencies, engineering firms, utility companies, market research firms, banks, national and regional brokerage companies ...
The bad part is that most of these employers either want you to have a PhD in math or additional degree in something else. You can always combine computer science with mathematics.
I hope I haven't confused you even more.
