Should a person (by his own) start his own business before he accumulates experiences from real job?

A friend is trying to decide his career path after Ph.D. graduation. He never worked before, but he refused to hunt job and wanted to have his own business because of his so-called opportunity. What is your suggestion?

Answer:
If you feel confident in what you are doing it does not matter if you start your own business or work outside do what you feel your strenghths are and go forth and what you feel will make you happy in life.
