What steps does it take for a person to be deemed legally insane?

It's not hard at all. Go to a police station and tell them you're going to blow your own head off. They'll lock you up in a mental ward. Once you get there just act crazy. Run around naked and hit your head on the wall. They'll write up an evaluation, put you in a strait jacket and there you have it. Good luck with that.
This will be very difficult, because it will require a psychological evaluation, which most people won't do. It requires a person have a series of "questionable" activities and be a threat to the community or themselves. You can probably call yourself insane for even thinking of putting it on your resume. No need for a resume to get into the loony bin, buddy! Good luck!
