Can a person have 2 employers file H1B visa petitions for him simultaneously ?

Hi everyone,ok heres the question,a friend of mine (Software Engineer in INDIA) has been offered H1B visas by 2 companies simultaneously,i.e apart from his present employer another company has or is going to file his papers at the same time for a H1B Visa,so now my Q is ,is it legal to have 2 EMPLOYERS file a H1B petition for you at the same time?,will there be any problems he will have to face in the future?,can he get 2 approvals and select either one to attend the embassy or something like that,i mean how does this work?,anyone have any valid info on this situation or encountered it themselves?,plz try and help this guy out,he has an embassy date scheduled in a couple of days, thanks for ur suggestions in advance.

Answer:
Answer 1 is correct. No problem having two companies apply for H1B visas, or having two H1B visas simultaneously while in the US. H1Bs allow for temporary/part-time employment, so theoretically one person could have many H1B visas with different companies at the same time.

The bigger issue is probably whether each company is aware of the other company. There are significant costs associated with filing for H1B ($2190 filing fees minimum, + legal fees). Company A might not be very happy if they paid all that money only to discover that the worker has joined Company B instead.
HEllo Nice Guy.

This is entirely legal as long as he declares his intentions
