There are loads of different search engines out there and more and more are being created. Generally they fail as Google is just to big to beat. Google is the biggest and the best but Yahoo is also pretty good.

Other historically important search engines, such as Lycos, HotBot, and AllTheWeb, are now essentially reselling either Google or Yahoo PPC results.
