When a fad becomes a stable phenomenon the marketing thrust has hit home. Good or bad, a successful marketing campaign is a powerful vehicle. It bothers me greatly that young people are motivated to buy stuff because of celebrity endorsements. Maybe that idea will go away the route of See The USA In Your Chevrolet, because we can no longer afford it.

desensitizes many to subjects they often viewed as inappropriate. much like a ladder's rungs, people's views on things like sexuality and such are on the bottom rung. as each newer and sexier ad comes out they complain and moan about the indescretion of the marketers use of vulgarity. after awhile it sinks and and their views of that material go up one rung. next time something else comes out offensive the same process begins and again, their views go up another rung. keeps going and going until the point where they don't relaly care about stuff anymore.
