Why is it so popular when it seems like just a text page? Clue me in.

It's a good place to find information on things you are interested in.
I like to look in the real estate section and the vacation rentals section.

I also like to read the forums they have just to see what other people think about topics i am interested in.
It's everything. It seems to be the "hot" page right now. But watch out, there are alot of scams on craigslist also. It's very popular because there something for everyone's taste on the site.
