I was at safeway and i was looking for something but it said CPS what does that mean?

It means Current Product Shortage. If you go to customer service they will give you a voucher or rain check that will let you buy the product when it arrives at the price it was on the day you were there.. so if it was on sale at 50% off and it takes 2 weeks to arrive then you can take the voucher to the store and even if the product is no longer on sale you will still get 50% off. You can ask for a voucher for any product on sale or not that is out of stock, so you will not have to pay a higher price when the new ones arrive.
Ask the manager. He/she will know the answer to your question.
