You dont predict trends for growth of market...based on trends you calculate future market growth. And so are his rest of answers.
You have to do some kind of Marketing reserach to find out out trends. Come out with a questionnaires and a research model that could capture the following info.
1) What are the social changes?
This includes braod range of categories (specific to pizaa) like eating habbits, changing life style (no time for cooking and cleaning), liking pizaas than other foods..these are ome of the trends you can capture here
2) Economic trends: Not so relevant here
3) Technology trends: what are the new technologies comming into place that could manufacture tasty and nutritious pizza...etc..
4) Political:- Not so relevant unless if some where there is agitation goin on to ban pizzas
5) Environmental: Are pizzas causing any env problems...if so are envronmentalists are doing something...would that impact industry etc.
6) Geographical: Which part of the globe is showing a drastic increase in sales or drastic drop in sales...which ppl are loving pizzas and which section of ppl started hating them

out on the northwest coast they put chicken on pizza, here on the east coast i and my friends think that is just sick, and wrong, but the trend is coming here too, sadly.
