Own-brand manufacturing means that you make and market products for yourself- and usually only for yourself. The other option may be "original design manufacturing" or a combination. ODM would mean you are provided the specs by another brand and manufacture product for them under their brand name.
Some companies wind up doing both OBM and ODM in order to spread out the costs of manufacturing (i.e fixed costs).
Contract manufacturing would be variation on ODM in that you are just packing whatever the client asks you to pack. Like ODM you are spared the advertising and marketing expenses of the own-brand option, but you are also then reduced to a supplier who can often easily be replaced. Often you also don't get as great margins either- though you certainly shoulder much lower risk - so is that a good way to go? Possibly.
But they are really two very different decision paths- one you are deciding to be a brand name company and the other just a supplier. You need very different organizations to make either work well - though again, some people can do both- it's just difficult.
