How do child TV and ad models get "discovered"?

Mostly by accident. A person in the TV or model business is just out shopping and sees a kid that has good looks and a great personality. Good looks isn't enough even for modeling. You have to just enchant the person looking at the picture or you will be just ordinary. The Model Search things at hotels or malls are just a scam to get you to buy a portfolio of pictures of your kid for about $400. When you are done, you will have spent $400 or more for nothing but a folder of cheap pictures. It is just luck to be discovered.
