If I have an invention how to I go about creating it and showing it to people?

First and foremost you need a drawing or working prototype of your invention ,one usually follows the other, then you may wish to register the overall design, or patent the whole thing, advice on obtaining a patent can be had from the patent office there is usually one in a regional city, if you go for the cheaper option of registering the design, this can be done from a design registration office usually in the same building as the patent office but not necessarily so, once the process has been done, you can then go about the business of marketing your invention, companies who produce similar products may be interested but a note of caution some companies are unethical they can get your design or patent and with a few minor adjustments or improvements copy your original design as a starter from which to make the same product, the asiatic manufacturing industry are very good at this, better for you to produce with an investor the invention, banks that are supportive of the manufacturing industry are common they may have clients on thier books with an history of investment into new products or technology.

well, first of all you need a lawyer to patent it, it can easily be claimed by someone else if u r not careful. Once u have a patent, you can either go and exhibit it in a relevant exhibition - if it is IT u go for Gitex etc, if not applicable, then I strongly suggest you contact a firm that may be interested in marketing your invention or using it as part of its products.
