That is a very hard thing to get used to. The only way to get over the fear and the feeling that you don't do it very well is to stop thinking negatively and start thinking like the little engine that could. Practice practice practice! Say the script or whatever you're supposed to say in cold calling to yourself looking at yourself IN THE MIRROR. It's one of the most effective ways to be more self assured and confident and help you get over that "fear". And besides? one of the best things about doing stuff like that over the phone? The worst the person can do/say is "no". no big deal...what do you say? "NEXT!" And smile all the time! Before too long you'll be able to do it with no problem!
I know I do this myself and I was extremely nervous at first.but after a few calls I was like, "hey this isn't so bad after all!" and If I got hung up? I'd laugh and say "next!". just remember, it's not you, it's not them.it's just the game :)

If cold calling means phoning people who don't want to talk to you. Well, no service will improve that. It may be better for you, but it's still bad for the person on the other end. I recommend changing the job too. That only brings stress and one day companies will notice people are getting less and less patient to answer the phone and talk to someone they don't want to.
It depends on your industry. I am in the mortgage industry and there's all sorts of companies out there that cold call for you to generate leads, then they either email them to you or sometimes "hot transfer" the call directly to you before they hang up.
I would do a google and/or yahoo search for "telemarketing outsourcing" or something similar and see what pops up. I'm sure there's industry-specific companies that can accomplish what you need done.
Is it done by telephone or personal contacts with prospective customers? Telephone cold calling is very difficult and you have to adjust and accept and overcome the negative feedback, . Success borders on less than 5%.. Personal cold calling is much easier for people usually give you more time, the rejection part is not as low as telephone but still not outstanding and would be about 10% or less success rate.. For an outside firm to handle this cold calling the success rate would probably drop and if going this route the compensentation should be based on success rates and not numbers called.
