What is the difference between Point of sale and Point of Purchase?

Answer:
point of sale is for the seller, point of purchase is for the buyer
Yes that is right !
Actually they are the same thing - advertising in the environment where the product may be immediately purchased or sold.
they are the same thing. eg. the chewing gum section when you pay at the corner store.
Point of sale: Point where someone actually transfers money for a goods or service. Activity for POS will centre around reminding people of something they may have forgotten

Point of Purchase: Point where an individual actually decides to buy somehting. Activity for POP will persuade someone to make a decision between a number of products

It isn't a big difference and most people use POP and POS as the same thing - but the difference is key in certain categories e.g. Difference between a supermarket kiosk and the checkout
