Word of mouth advertising is the best. Take good care of your clients. Remember that a satisfied client will tell 10 people about the good job you did, but a dissatisfied client will badmouth you to 100 people.
You probably do not have enough money to do much advertising . I would suggest that you consider investing your advertising money in a good, eye-catching paint job on your work vehicle. That way, people will see your name and phone number everytime you are on the job -- or just driving around.
Another idea is to do a little "goodwill job" (free job) for a school or church or food co-op -- you could benefit long-term from the connection when the other party recommends you to others.

Advertise your business on shopping carts in grocery stores,in coupon clipper magazines sent to homes, cable vision ( local cable usually inexpensive) in a flyer called free movie news, bulletin boards in grocery stores, of cousre word of mouth, or join a business group within your town and network with other businessmen in your area
First, paint your car over with a REALLY stunning painting. Use vibrant colors.
Make yourself stand out.a newspaper ad doesn't work too well.
Decalling your vehicle PROPERLY certainly helps. Even your own image when you meet with customers. Be tidy and professional, even if you have to carry a good shirt in the truck with you.
