Well, the answer is pretty simple, but maybe a bit uncomfortable for you. You are disappointing those people. Plain and simple, you are disappointing those people. Now you need to figure out why you are disappointing them. Are you bringing the wrong people to your site? By that I mean maybe you are going after too broad of an audience and so when they come to your site, they do not find what they want. Imagine a car dealer who sells only Toyotas but brings people to his site looking for "new cars." The chance that they are interested in a Toyota is not really high, so a large percentage of those people will be disappointed.
The next thing to do, if you feel you are in front of the right audience, is to check out your competitors sites. What are they doing differently. The reality is that these people are buying from someone and if it isn't you, then it is because they find your site to be a disappoint compared to some other site. Maybe it is how your site is layed out. Maybe it is your pricing, selection, free shipping, etc. Do you list prices on your site?
The single bst advice I can give you is to not be defensive. Accept the reality that your site is disappointing the people you are bringing to it. Now, figure out why they are disappointed. Accept the fact that many of those people are buying from someone, so since it isn't you, it has to be that you are disappointing them.
Tough to hear, I know, but vital to finding the problem and fixing it so you can get your piece of the pie!
If you are getting 30-80 hits per day it must be one of the following issues:
1. bad UI (user interface)
2. the wrong 30-80 people. do they come from search engines? did they search for something you sell?
3. product prices
4. shipping prices
