Use "Thomas Register.com to find the phone number for their headquarters, and call and ask to speak to the head of product development.
Be careful, if you do not have a patent you will need to get the company to sign a non-disclosure agreement with you so they wont steal your idea, however most companies are reluctant to do that because they may be developing a similar item as your idea.
Don't have the conversation over the phone, make an appointment to talk to them in person, it would be best if you took them to lunch or diner.
You would need to get in touch with their legal department or perhaps a research and development department. You probably won't find those numbers listed on the web. What you should do is to get the main number and call them.
A couple things you should know.
1. You might run into a prepared speech telling you that they are not interested in outside contributions. They probably get a lot of people trying to get to buy their ideas. Odds are, most of them are not good ideas.
2. Many companies will not even look at your idea until you have developed it. I mean actually produced the product and have gone thru with any patenting and copyrighting that is involved. This is to protect them and you. Mattell does not want to buy your idea and then discover that you never really had the rights to it. The only way to make sure that is possible is if you have done the work to protect the rights so you can sign them over. The will not just want to hear your idea and go from there.
You may want to get ready for these things before you call them.
you need to first apply for a paten for the item. You pitch the idea to them and they take it and you don't get a penny!
Once you have a patten pending... then get in touch with some one.
contact customer service - they will pass you the contacts for technical support - they should be able to give you the contacts for conception etc...
OR
contact customer service and ask for the public relations department
