Answer:
No idea where you are, but also consider a great organization called Taproot foundation. They match up non-profits with business professionals for specific projects. Great, great organization - very well-organized and you'll get great results.
www.craigslist.com or www.volunteermatch.org, both are good websites for finding people. good luck
What about you try to contact some locals Hospitals and doctors (by e-mail, everyone hates the phone) and get them to add their name to your event.
Doctors will love to have the exposure and get new clients, Hospitals will love to have the "noble action" reputation.
Insist on two things:
- You only need "insert amount of $$ here" to help this noble cause.
- Your group will take care of everything during the event, they only need to be financially involved.
Do you know anyone from your local television or radio stations you could talk to? There may be someone at a station who either is already a cancer survivor or perhaps has someone in their family who has had cancer and maybe more inclined to assist you.
Try your local Chamber of Commerce. I'm sure there is a marketing guru in the membership. If you use a celebrity, get someone from your town, sports person, ranking military, top teacher or coach.real celebrities are hard to deal with and most want to be paid for their participation. Good luck with your effort.
