I wish to start marketing using Flyers. Your thoughts?
Answer:
Hi,
You do a clever thing for your business if you use flyers as well. In any business advertising is more than half of the equation.
More advertising the better, and that is why huge companies spend a lot of money of advertising other than anything else!

My thoughts? Don't.
I consider flyers as nothing more than trash. I look at them only long enough to remember the name of the business so I can make certain I never patronize them.
I found them to be a waste of money..The money I spent on printing and manpower to distribute them would have paid for a fairly large ad in the local paper.
Flyers are a nuisance.
Not a big a nuisance as TELEMARKETERS.
But at least Telemarketers have a "do not call option."
People don't have the."don't put that piece of paper on my windshield " option.
Or the "don't litter my front lawn with your flyers" option
To combat early morning litterers:)
Fliers do work but only if you have a specific target market. If you just pass them out in a parking lot, it's just a waste of money.
Flyers can be a good tool but they need to be used correctly and it depends on what you are marketing. i once owned a landscaping business and i would flyer neighborhoods that i was trying to get into. i would make up a nice flyer with a great offer on it and my phone would ring and ring and ring. it worked fantastic. yeah it pisses off some people but then again what doesnt today? target your market, create a compelling offer that supports that market, design a professional looking piece and have at it. i bet you will do well. good luck, any questions please dont hesitate to contact me!
Flyers can be an excellent marketing tool. Here is why. If you compare any marketing on a cost per acquisition (CPA) or cost per lead basis (CPL) they are extremely effective, when you measure this again dollars spent. Your competing alternative is to puchase other forms of print advertising. Let's use the newspaper for example.
The cost to purchase and 8.5x11" (flyer size) ad may be several hundred if not thousands of dollars. But using that same flyer as a LOOSE COLORED INSERT into your local newspaper can provide you the same exposure for a fraction of the investment. Your CPA and CPL declines, and in many respects, the quality of leads you receive will increase. One last point: Most local newspapers allow you to TARGET certain zip code ranges, further saving you time, money and helping you become more precise in your marketing. So check it out. Good luck!
Speaking from personal experience? Don't use ithat. It's a waste of time, energy and money. People usually end up throwing them away or using them to jot down notes and never even look at the flyer. Your best bet is word of mouth or some other form of advertizing.
Good luck!
