Well you could start with what is right in front of you for free.
Fill out your Yahoo profile and get a 360 page, then make it so people can contact you at your Yahoo email box. Then include a link to your website on the 360 page and make some Blog entries.
You don't say what you want to advertise, but as for myself I would rather have one contact a day that is serious than 1,000 who are curious. Think about that.
