What paper stock best conveys a sense of purity, strength, character and integrity?
Please provide (if you can) stock name, weight, manufacturer/supplier and any other relevant info. Thanks!
Answer:
Actually, the paper is an important component of any book. If it is two lightweight you can get "bleed through" of the type or art on the other side. The paper you use will depend in part, on the printing method you are using. If you are using a "home publishing" set up you will have to use a paper that is compatible with inkjet or laser. If you are having the job printed commercially then your choices would be much greater.
The paper is one component of your project so it is difficult to recommend any particular stock without knowing the type of project it is, the type of binding you will be using and the production method for printing.
I'm not sure what kind of book you're designing, but why would you rely on the paper to convey this message? Shouldn't the content convey this?
If you're really keen for the paper itself to convey this, try a heavyweight recycled paper, perhaps with a linen-type texture.
Huh? Your design and written content (if there is any) are what CONVEY all the things you listed, NOT the paper stock! I don't know what you are planning to do with this book, but I think you are really on the wrong wave length here. Worry about content, not paper stock.
I would choose card stock in an off white. Most paper suppliers would have this. It's substantial and work take a dood deal of handling and still look pristine. It would definitely convey a strong and serious character.
