I am looking for solid facts. Also, what business types benefit the most and are there any that don't get that much out of referrals? What are some good places to look for statistics? Thanks for the help everyone!

I don't have any solid facts on paper that prove my opinion through empirical means, however, from years of experience I can tell you that most business would not survive without referrals that establish a solid/loyal customer base.

Seems like there is no website or places for u to see on the percentage of business through referrals.
I am doing a home based business and I only can see how many referrals I have and how many of them still active and who has left. It is a good system because I can easily access the info that I want. I even can move the new member to my other member, that means I can give a new member to my old member to motivate them.
If you are talking about which business types benefit the most, those which is not involving a physical product is giving you the highest profits as u do not need to handle delivery or do iventory.

There are no solid facts. It is near impossible to measure with any accuracy the impact of product referral. Of course different types of business have different rates of product referrals. If you are in the movie or book business, a lot of people will create buzz about your productions, however if you sell bathroom paper don't expect much word of mouth advertising.
